Nexa Vape Not Hitting

As big as the vaping industry has gotten over the last few years, there’s still plenty of room for competition. The Nexa vape brand is a perfect example of this. Just a year or two ago, almost no one had heard of Nexa. Today, they’re one of the most searched-for brands in the world. It’s amazing that such rapid success is still possible in an industry that’s nearly two decades old.

One of the reasons why the Nexa brand has become so popular is because their devices look great and really stand out on store shelves. Good looks, however, only encourage people to make the initial purchase. The reason why people choose the Nexa vape brand again and again is because the devices are amazingly reliable. Because of that reliability, it’s going to feel like quite a shock if you have a Nexa vape that isn’t hitting.

What could the problem be? It’s possible that you’ve managed to purchase a dud. Although Nexa vapes have an extremely low failure rate, problems can happen from time to time. It’s more likely, though, that there’s actually a way to fix the issue. In this guide, we’ll walk you through it.

Unpack Your Vape Properly

If you have a brand-new Nexa vape that isn’t working, the first thing that you should do is check to confirm that you’ve unpacked it properly – especially if you’re having trouble inhaling through the device. If the airflow is too tight, that’s your first clue that something is wrong.

  • Check the mouthpiece for a plug or cap. If you find one, remove it and throw it away.
  • Check the airflow vent for a sticker or strip of tape. If you find one, remove it and throw it away.
  • Check the device for an airflow slider. If the airflow is fully closed, open it.

If your Nexa vape wasn’t hitting because you weren’t able to pull air through it, the issue should now be resolved. If not, continue reading.

Check for an On/Off Switch or Press the Button

In many cases, a modern disposable vape will be equipped with an on-off feature to ensure that it won’t turn on inadvertently while you carry it in your pocket. If you’re having trouble getting your Nexa vape to work, the problem could simply be that the device is turned off – especially if the smart display remains dark when you try to vape.

  • Check the device for an on-off switch and try moving the switch. Don’t forget that in some vapes, the airflow slider doubles as the on-off switch – so if the airflow vent is closed, you should try opening it.
  • Many Nexa vapes have adjustable power and allow you to switch between two or more vaping modes by pressing a button. Try pressing the button and see if the screen turns on.

Is your vape’s screen now on? Try to vape. If your Nexa vape still isn’t hitting, skip to the “Try to Get the Puff Sensor Unstuck” section below. If the screen is still off, continue reading.

Try Charging the Vape

If your Nexa vape isn’t hitting and the screen isn’t turning on regardless of what you do, it’s possible that the battery is dead. Although a disposable vape should always arrive with a fully charged battery, it is possible for a battery to self-discharge if it’s been in storage for a long time. Try connecting the vape to your computer with a USB cable. Is the screen on now? If so, wait for the vape to charge and try using it again.

If the screen doesn’t turn on when you connect the vape to your computer, follow these steps to troubleshoot it.

  • Try charging your Nexa vape with a different cable. It’s possible that the cable you’re trying to use isn’t working properly.
  • Make sure that the Nexa vape’s charging port is clean. If you see any debris in the port, you can remove it with a toothpick.
  • Try connecting the Nexa vape to multiple power sources. For example, you can try charging the device with a different computer or a wall charger.

If you still can’t get your Nexa vape to turn on after following these steps, skip to the final section of this article.

Try to Get the Puff Sensor Unstuck

If your Nexa vape still isn’t hitting after you’ve performed the troubleshooting steps above – and the device’s screen is on, and it doesn’t seem to have airflow issues – the puff sensor is the likely culprit. The puff sensor in a disposable vape is usually a simple flexible membrane that moves in response to airflow, and it’s possible for the sensor to be faulty. It can even get stuck if e-liquid gets on it. You can potentially get the sensor working by following these steps.

  • Tap the device gently against your hand a few times. Don’t bang it against a hard surface, though, because that can damage the internal components.
  • Try taking a few short, sharp puffs and see if the device responds. If it does, the puff sensor may not be as sensitive as it should be. You can still use your Nexa vape, but you may need to puff more firmly than you normally would.
  • Try blowing firmly through the Nexa vape’s mouthpiece and then attempt to vape again. If the device works, the puff sensor was stuck. The sensor may get stuck again in the future – the device probably has an internal leak – but you should be able to use this trick to keep it working until it runs out of vape juice.

Return the Nexa Vape to the Vape Shop

Is your Nexa vape still not hitting even though you’ve followed all of the steps in this article? If your device has never worked, it’s very likely that you’ve purchased a dud. The good news is that a reliable vape shop should always let you return a vape if it hasn’t ever worked. Take it back to the point of purchase and ask for an exchange. The cashier will most likely want you to test the new device before leaving the store. Assuming it works properly, you should be all set.
