Choose rubber or PVC when the uniform faces rain, mud, abrasion or demanding outdoor use. Moulded construction also works well when brands want raised 2D or 3D detail instead of traditional thread texture.

The cheapest badge is not necessarily the most economical choice. Replacement frequency, garment lifespan and working conditions all affect the real cost.
